All of the changes that have been made are listed at the beginning of each billing guide under the “What has changed?” section. Some of the recent changes include: general housekeeping and formatting modifications, updated language detailing the time period when the initial placement of an orthodontic appliance is covered, revised billing codes for limited orthodontic treatment subsequent visits and comprehensive orthodontic treatment subsequent visits, and the new acceptance of intraoral scans throughout the Orthodontic Billing Guide.
All updates and changes to billing guides and fee schedules are made quarterly (Jan. 1, April 1, July 1 and Oct. 1).
