This lecture is designed for the general dentist who wishes to incorporate basic oral surgery into their practice and as a refresher for dentists who already do.
This lecture will review basic oral surgery techniques for the general dentist. Topics include:
- Patient evaluation
- Case selection
- Instrument selection
- Exodontia and other surgical techniques
- Flap design
- Sectioning Teeth
- Pre-prosthetic surgery
- Post operative concerns
- Knowing when to refer
At the end of this lecture you will have a better understanding if these are procedures you wish to perform for your patients.
About Dr. Letwin
Dr. Letwin received his PhD in pharmacology from George Washington and his DDS from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He is the program director of the Swedish Medical Center, General Practice Residency. He is a co-owner of Seattle Special Care Dentistry, a dental office that focuses on medically complex patients, where he practices as a general dentist.
