Reimbursement Dental Personal Protective Equipment

Please read the following information from the HCA:

Effective for dates of service on and after May 18, 2020, Apple Health Dental will pay for personal protective equipment, CDT© code D1999.

Apple Health’s payment for this procedure code is $15, per client, per day.

The rate is not encounter eligible. This is a temporary measure and Apple Health Dental will give ample notice to providers when payment for this procedure code will expire.

Medicaid Transition to Managed Care Cancelled

The 2019 Legislature has directed the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) to continue to administer the dental Medicaid program through fee-for-service. The HCA may not proceed with a carved-out or carved-in managed care dental option at this time.
